How are the different peer groups organized?

Currently, there are 5 different peer groups with approximately 65 companies in total, including 18 in Subprime:

Peer Group M: Megalender/servicer group (typically top 30)
Peer Group A: Large lender/servicer group (typically ranked 31-60)
Peer Group S: Subprime lenders and servicers
Peer Group C: Small/medium sized lender/servicer groups
Peer Group E: Thrift Owned mortgage banking groups

What are the requirements for participation in the program?

The MBA/STRATMOR Peer Group program is open to mortgage companies that originate and/or service residential loans. The cost of participation in the MBA/STRATMOR 2006 Peer Group Survey depends on a company's peer group category and nature of business (production only; production + servicing; or servicing only). The annual cost ranges from $6,000 to $12,000. Each cycle culminates with a final 60+ page report and roundtable meetings with peers. Additionally, in order to receive the data outputs and participate in the PGR meetings, each PGR participant must have an executed confidentiality agreement on file with the MBA.

Where and when are the roundtable meetings held?

Peer Groups M, A and S meet semi-annually in both Spring and Fall, and Peer Groups C and E meet once a year in Spring. For the Spring 2006 roundtables, peer group meetings will begin in March in Old Town, Alexandria, VA (Group M); April in New York City, NY (Group A) and Chicago, IL (Group S); May in Chicago, IL (Group C) and Fort Worth, TX (Group E). The Fall Roundtables for 2006 will begin in September.

What is the "Online" survey and how does it work?

The on-line survey reduces the burden of data collection and entry for participants. When companies "sign up" to participate in the Peer Group Survey, we provide them with usernames and passwords that allow on-line access to the Peer Group Survey via the Web. The company can then complete data, submit data, refine data based on comments from the MBA and STRATMOR, and review final results on an ongoing basis.

How much time are companies given in accepting late data?

Companies usually receive one month to complete the data. The MBA and The STRATMOR Group try to be as accommodating as possible in accepting late data.
