Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) and STRATMOR Group have conducted the Peer Group Survey and Roundtable Program since 1998. This program creates a forum for participating mortgage banking companies to review their financial results and operating practices in relation to their peers.
Benchmarking tools have become increasingly more important in today’s changing business environment. Participants provide comprehensive and timely data relating to their production and servicing operations. Large prime lenders as well as subprime lenders compile data on a semi-annual basis (June 30 and December 31 data). Smaller lenders take part in the data collection effort once per year (December 31 data). While compiling the data is no small task, our lenders tell us that the value they derive is well worth the effort. We believe that we have the most comprehensive, timely and accurate benchmarking data in the country.
Survey participants discuss results and business trends through roundtable meetings at an off-site location. The meetings, organized by peer grouping, allow companies to network and share ideas and issues with similar peers. For each peer group meeting, the MBA/STRATMOR team compiles a detailed presentation of historical trends and analyses of the most current data series. Our participants consistently tell us that they derive unparalleled value from the dialogue at our roundtable meetings, which are an integral part of our program.
